Some notes on my other internet haunts
These days, the internet seems a vast, sprawling and electrified hodge-podge of things to do and places to be. And, over the years, I seem to have come to occupy a rather large quantity of internet space — much of it in the social networking sphere. I know that many of you social network as well so I’m providing a brief tour and explanation of some of my ‘residences’ for those who may like to pop in for a visit.

This is my facebook profile. It’s been rather busy there lately! Please feel free to drop in if you like. I’d be delighted to see you!

Here is the fanpage for Luthiel’s Song novels. I usually provide series specific updates there as well as the occasional book giveaway. Would love to see you there! Who knows, maybe I’ll have the honor of sending you a free book!
MySpace
The good ol’ standby. Unfortunately, MySpace seems to have fallen off a cliff since its acquisition by dark lord and extreme conservative media mogul Rupert Murdoch. Small surprise. Everything the guy touches seems to turn brown and stinky. Kinda the opposite of Midas. Regardless, I still do visit MySpace to leave comments, posts, the occasional blog, and to keep up with friends. So if you’re one of the brave few left on MySpace, it would be wonderful to join you.

I’ve just become active on Twitter and have been using it lately to follow the news of schools, libraries, bookstores and those tweeting about fantasy. I also enjoy the simplicity of the medium and the people there have all been quite kind.
Goodreads
http://www.goodreads.com/author/show/291916.Robert_Fanney
Goodreads is a networking site for readers and book lovers. I’ve been active on the site now for about three years. It’s a fantastic way to find new books, make reader friends, and suggest/share books.
Shelfari
http://www.shelfari.com/luthielssong
Shelfari is also a social networking book site. Though not as popular as Goodreads, I have found it to be a wonderful forum for readers and writers alike.
Well, that’s about all the major ones for now. I’m certain I’ll be adding more over time. Hope to see you!

Followed the links from your Shelfari profile here. Thanks for requesting me as a friend. I think I just found a new series to read. Looking forward to finding copies of your books.

I met you at a school in Fairfax where I was doing my library internship. That was last Fall. I was going to read your books, even though they were not my type of genre. I have to admit that our 18 year old had it for quite a while so I ended up reading Graceling, very recently, before I began reading yours (And C.S. Lewis’ Till We Have Faces, as well). Sorry for the delay.
First, my daughter’s comments. It took her a long time to get into it. She was reading it at school during those like 15 minutes..she can’t take it back it forth, it wouldn’t make it! She was a little frustrated by the weird names she couldn’t pronounce and she said at times it seemed that your imagination was almost too much. She finally finished it and said she liked it, but that was about it.
It took me about 4 chapters of Graceling (of which I swore I didn’t like it) and then I really enjoyed it. Faces, I can’t say I really enjoyed. (I just wanted to read C.S. Lewis before I attempted his more philosophical stuff for curiosity’s sake.)
I’m up to about page 60 in Luthiel’s Song..book #1…and I love the way it flows. The letter and song at the beginning were perfect. I liked meeting the characters and then getting into the action. I’ll let you know more when I finish, but I felt too much time had passed since I promised to give you an impression.

You came to my school this week!! I got my book and finished it in one night. Then I checked to see if book 2 was available in the library. It was on hold! I begged a friend and they let me borrow book 2 and then then finished it in a day!!
I love, love the story!
If you could answer one question — does Othalas ever get turned back into an elf so he and Luthiel can fall in love. I know they are meant to be together!!

Hey Ho! I love Luthiel’s Song yo!! Better than dreams, way better than Twilight. They should put it up where it belongs. They shouldn’t hate. But I know they love to hate a good thing, these days. Love to you! Keep writing the beautiful story!!
